First, try to backup your Notes (assuming they are duplicated in iCloud).
> iCloud.com > Notes > Email each note to yourself.
then
Option-Go > Library > Containers > com.apple.Notes
Delete Container.plist
Thank you , that worked !
Thx all!.....
BUT this did NOT work! Notes still crashes when I open
What is going on?
I love notes, but Notes is useless in mavericks
Thx all for any help you can provide
thanks for suggestions but this dd not work - Notes still crashes
Was able to move my existing notes to Evernote - which I will most likely go to as note pad until this issues is resolved
You might want to consider starting a new discussion. Since this one is marked solved, less people are likely to look at it. You can link to this one.
thanks Eric-
How are old discussions linked to new?
uh, why is this marked as solved, when the problem most definitely is NOT solved!?
Copy the web page address, for example:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5513074?answerId=25341827022#25341827022
It is solved for the original poster even if others are having problems.
I've had this happen to me twice in Mavericks. Once back in Decembr 2013 and then again today. Each time, the culprit was a Login item that was not playing nicely with the rest of the system. I simply deleted it and everything was fine.
To do this, go into System Preferences --> Users & Groups and click the Login Items tab to see a list of applications that open automatically at login. At this point, you can either delete all the ones that are not from Apple and then restart, which should fix the problem. Or you can try deleting one at a time (restarting each time) to see which one is the culprit.
I just unchecked 'notes' from my exchange account under settings>internet accounts and it works fine now.
