Will the alarm ever stop?

If you set the alarm for a certain time, and then leave the iPhone unattended, will the alarm sound forever? Isn't there a setting to limit how long the alarm will sound?...

Thanks.

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.3

Thanks... I've come to the conclusion that Apple is expecting iPhone users to be attached to their phone 24/7/365, and keep it active all the time...

...Same with missed-calls reminder... Someone calls me while I'm away from my phone, and there's no audible signal to alert me to this missed call, somethimng that my "stupid" flip phone used to do regularly... Apple is expecting us to have our iPhone in front of our eyes all the time.

I too wrestled with this and came up with these solutions. Firstly, I used a song as my alarm (just want to be precise as to what I did, not what needs to be done). On my iPhone 6+ I set a second alarm 10 minutes later using "no sound" as the sound. This resulted in the first alarm getting silenced! Problem was this did not work on my iPad Pro! The fix there was to "purchase" a $1.29 "Silent" ringtone from iTunes and using this ringtone for my second alarm sound. This may change as Apple fiddles with IOS updates but as of 10.2.1 this works for me!
