Why does my mac not find my new airport express

I Have been using the older airport express without issue for a while. Now I bought the new model for the added ethernet port, but when I tried to set it up my airport utility does not find it. I have reset the device, unplugged it and plugged it back in and so forth, but it does not want to show up on my airport utility screen. When I plug the old one back in my Macbook finds it without any problems.
