iMessage Crashes using emojis

iMessage Crashes and goes back to the home screen when most emojis are touched. Some work fine, but only a few. This worked fine when I first put the emoji keyboard on this new iPhone 5s. It suddenly started doing it about a week ago. I have uninstalled the keyboard, then restarted my phone, didnt work. then I did a hard boot, didnt work. At my wits end. Please help if you can. I never had any problem like this with my old iphone 4 and my wifes iphone 5 doesnt do it.
