Iphone 5 lock button problem

I have an Iphone 5 but the lock button doesnt work properly, i have had this issue before and apple said they can only replace my phone not repair it, however i have noticed that the 5 has been discontinued, what will they do? will they replace it with a c or s model? and will theyre be a charge if its an S model and will i get money back if its a C model because the 5 was dearer?
