Public and Private UDP and TCP

I want to host a minecraft server from my computer, but I don't know what public and private UDP and TCP ports are. I also could use any info prople have with port mapping. Can anyone one help me? Help from someone with experience with port mapping, servers, and networking would be nice, but any help would be great.

There are numerous articles online on how to set up a Minecraft server. The following also includes info on configuring a Time Capsule for port mapping. Regardless the port required is: 25565. You will use this value for both the Public and Private and both the TCP and UDP fields.

Also check out the following AirPort User Tip on how to configure port mapping.
