    This is rediculous.. after paying so much for such a premium tablets.. we need to do trick like these..and have to compensate with the quality of the screen! Apple please listen!!

    I agree with gail from maine in that you need to give feedback direct to Apple.

     

    Also keep in mind that the 'fix' I linked to, if it works at all, probably won't fix a screen that is tinted non-uniformly like yours. The non-uniformity is likely to do with a lack of uniformity in the display components as where a uniformly yellow screen has been reported (anecdotally) to whiten with exposure to heat.

    I had light leakage/bleed on my 28 days old iPad Air, so,I sent it back for replacement and they did.

    Now this replacement device has more light bleed and a yellow tint on left hand side. I am going to return it and have my money back.

    This is obvious that there is something wrong with iPad air screens.

    Just upgraded to an iPad Air from an iPad 2 that I've had since 2011. Yes, straight out of the box the screen had a distinct yellow tint to it that was clearly visible when comparing the two iPads side by side. But regardless of *why* this occurs, I can tell you that after two days of moderate use, the tint is gone.

     

    My guess is that so many Apple stores are replacing these iPads simply to appease customers. In my experience, a little bit of patience is the only "fix" required.

     

    I couldn't be happier with my new iPad Air.

    Glad to hear that you're happy with your Air!

     

    However, most of the people here are not complaining about a yellow tint to the Air's screen but a yellow tint on the *left* hand side of the screen (when the home button is on the bottom). It is known that uniformly yellow screens can become more white over time, but I've never heard of a non-uniform screen becoming uniform over time. If that happened to your screen you can be assured you are in the minority!

     

    Most people's brains quickly adapt to the non-uniformity (ignorance can be bliss!), but unfortunately once you see it you will probably have difficulty unseeing it. After a week of owning my first Air I accidentally noticed the non-uniformity and that was the sad end of my ignorance—it took me 4+ months to get an Air with an acceptable screen!

    I sended mine back today. It's my third try after 3 month of waiting. Is the problem still there or has somebody received an iPad without that yellow left side?

    I sent my first one back in February got a replacement that was worse after using it non stop for four months the yellow tint hasn't got better on the left side or worse so it's going back four months later to hope they may be abit better  so people say it will go after use I used it for four months and it's still as pronounced as day one I know apple have added into the settings to tone the white of the screen down which makes the whole screen yellow but still left side is more yellow than right

    There are iPad Airs which don't have the yellow left side but unfortunately it is a "lottery".

     

    Hopefully Apple is keeping these things in mind as they're designing the Air's successor. I personally think a single-edge-lit screen which is the size of the Air exacerbates typical LCD non-uniformity.

    I have been through 15 iPad Air/iPad Mini Retina, i give up. Apple really needs to work this out.

     

    This yellow gate problem happens on all Apple products. iPads, iPhones, iMacs, Macbook Air/Pro ...

     

    I bought a Surface and it has a beautiful and uniform white screen.

    Like many here my first iPad Air had a distinct yellow tint on the left side and a blue tint on the right side. I debated whether to exchange it, especially after experiencing a similar, but not quite as bad, problem on my previous iPad 3. I did exchange it, and I'm very happy that I did. The replacement model has no problems whatsoever. As far as I can see the screen is perfect. So it is possible to get a better one without having to  return it 10 times. Just luck of the draw, I suppose.

    So i received my third iPad today. The screen is still yellow on the left side.

     

    For me it's over. I will sell this iPad Air and buy a Microsoft Surface.

     

    Sorry Apple, i've been an Apple User since 1994, time to switch to another tablet for me.

    I gave up with the Mini R due to this and managed to get a half decent Air after 8 tries. Tried again for a Mini R a couple weeks ago and got a much better one. Still a build week of the end of last year. And I'm wondering if these screens improve by lying for a few months.

     

    Anyway there are some decent ones out there. But this lottery will make me think long and hard about another upgrade.
