Q: HP Officejet 5600 drivers for Mavericks

Hi,

I just got a new macbook pro and installed Mavericks. Well, among a couple of problems there is one important thin:

No recognition of my HP Officet 5600 series printer. Even though is the support section of the apple.com it says it has the driver and supports this specific model, I can´t find the way of making the printer working.

Does anybody can help me solve this problem?

and how can I burn a dvd/cd if there is not support for Toast Titanium?

Oohhh Mavericks

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

    Hello UP and away,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

For more information on this, take a look at:

Troubleshooting printer issues in OS X

    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3147

Follow these steps until the issue is addressed:

    1. Make sure that the printer is powered on, has ink / toner, and that there are no alerts on the printer’s control panel. Note: If you cannot clear an alert on the printer's control panel, stop here and check the printer's documentation or contact the manufacturer for support.
    2. Ensure the printer is properly connected to a USB port on the Mac or AirPort base station / Time Capsule. If the printer is a network-capable printer, make sure that it is properly connected to your home network.
    3. Use Software Update to find and install the latest available updates. If an update is installed, see if the issue persists.
    4. Open the Print & Scan pane or Print & Fax (Snow Leopard) pane in System Preferences.
    5. Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.

If the issue persists, try these additional steps:

    1. Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.
    2. If the issue still persists, reset the printing system again.  Download and install your printer's drivers. Then, add the printer again.
    3. Contact the printer vendor or visit their website for further assistance.

    Best of luck,

    Mario

    Hey Up and Away,

Just plug your OfficeJet 5600 USB cable into your Mac, go to the App Store and Updates, in the menus select reload this page and ASU will offer you the printer installer.

    I just did this.

    Thanks a lot Mario,

The problem disappear when I shut the computer down an back on again. The list of printers available showed me finally the one I was looking for, so I did install the driver at the end

    Paul thanks,

The fact is that no matter how many times I updated the apps, no printer driver was shown for the hp officejet. The problem was solved when I shut the computer off and back on. Then the driver appear.

    Thanks
