I can't download songs on iTunes, help?

I tried downloading a song on iTunes a couple of days ago, an error message popped up saying it is unable to download at the time -done retry. I tried it today and still it is not working. Can anyone help? Thanks! I tried to delete the song from the downloading section but it didn't work, I tried signing out of my account and back in, my wifis fine, and I restarted it. None of it worked please help!!!!

The same thing happened to me today on my iPad mini! I thought it was just because I hadn't installed the latest system update, so I installed it but that didn't fix it. Then I tried the usual fix, resetting the wifi, no dice. I tried turning it off and back on too and it still didn't work. I don't know what to do next. I don't want this to waste my money.
