My iTunes Radio keeps skipping songs by itself!!!

This worked on my iPhone 7!! I upgraded from an iPhone 5 and had this problem.

I called Apple multiple times and their only solution was to factory reset (not restore form a back up) my phone which would mean I'd have to re download all my apps, basically like buying an iPhone for the first time and logging in with your Apple ID.

This was much easier and simpler.... So far no more wild skipping.

Is it skipping songs with explicit content?

I'm having the same issue with iTunes Radio on my iPhone 4S, like it's auto shuffling without playing a song for even a second

I read the following in somebody else's thread and it worked in my iPad :D So, hopefully, it will solve your problem as well... :)

"Log out of your iTunes Store account and then back in. That should fix the problem for a while, though in my experience it will eventually come back."

Ok here's a solution that I found, basically you have to reset your iPhone or iPad by holding power and home until it goes black and the Apple logo comes up. Then go into Settings-iCloud and REMOVE your account from there. Next remove the iTunes account too. Now connect to a wifi (this is quite critical) and reinsert your icloud and iTunes data. Now go again into settings and icloud and disable calendars and reenable it (you MUST see a spinner saying turning off/on calendar). Once you're done go into Music app and go to iTunes Radio and hit start listening. Done, no more skipping!

I had theory that maybe going device desktop to device iphone but checked and quit itunes desktop.

Maybe wild slipping initializing, resetting, or taking info in from last use last device to configure.

Is removing my account the same thing as deleting it? If so, won't I lose all my data?

You can say that removing it is like deleting it because you are removing it, therefore deleting it, from your iPhone. If by deleting you mean actually delete the entire account so that the account exists no more, then no, it is missile to do so. So no you won't lose your data at all.

I was listening to iTunes Radio for hours tonight, working fine. Then I stopped for a bit, returned to it and selected a different station and it was going bonkers fast forwarding.

I tried closing the music app from the background and doing the hard reset. Neither worked.

My fix: sign out and back into your iTunes account within iOS settings.

Settings app > iTunes & App Store > tap on your Apple ID > sign out.

Then sign back in.

Go back to music app and the iTunes radio section should refresh itself and ask you to "start listening". Tap that and select a station. Mine's working normal again.

I see skipping too in iTunes Radio on my 2nd-gen iPad mini running iOS 7.1.1.

Sometimes, it'll play music for a while just fine. Sometimes it starts skipping a number of songs, but then eventually plays one. Sometimes it just keeps on skipping - and apparently does something really bad because the iPad will eventually reboot after a minute or two.

I also have the iHeart Radio app on my iPad. And the weird thing is that when iTunes Radio does its skipping thing, then I switch over to IHR and it also does the same skipping thing.

How does that even make sense? IHR and Apple do not share credentials. They're completely separate ecosystems. This implies to me that the problem is within the iPad (or iOS) directly.

I've tried the following without success:

• Hitting the play/pause button - makes no difference, the app keeps searching/skipping
• Hitting the home button (simply backgrounding iTunes)
• Using the app switcher to kill iTunes and then restart it
• Switch to the iHeart Radio app
• Shutting off and restarting the iPad (hold sleep button on top, then slide to power off) - not much point since sometimes the problem is so bad, the iPad reboots all by itself.
• Logging out of my iTunes account (Settings > iTunes & App Store > click on my Apple ID > Sign Out) and then re-entering my credentials to sign in again

This problem is hard to reproduce on demand - as I described above, it often works fine.

I have not seen this problem occur at all on my iPhone 5s (iOS 7.1.1) that is setup with the same Apple ID.

even my music app skips like that - sometimes. I have not figured it out either.
