imac g3 sounds

Hi,

just now i pluged in the power plug into the power pont a herd a sound coming from it. It did not do this before is this safe?

I heard a pop sound when I last turned off my iMac g3 600. I assume it is a capacitor going bad.

The machine degausses the display when you turn the machine on. I'm not an EE type. I'd guess it is a capacitor goin' bad.

No comments on electrical shock. The risk is all yours.

it boot fine i have a felling that is is the power conecter (in the computer)

Just had to put a new power cable in my iMac g3 600. Got loose when pulling on cables in the back. It is a rat's nest. Cable seemed very loose when I reattach. New power plug seems loose too, but prongs are solid.
