Feb 26, 2014 9:39 PM in response to sophiaa_cby bumpwhite,I've tried everything in this post and keep getting the same error. "The application you tried to download could not be downloaded. Check your internet connection and try again." There is nothing wrong with my Intenet connection. I'm getting 20Gb and have not had issues downloading other large files on other Mac's in my house.
Is there ny way I can get a CD? I'm on a Mac Pro running Lion 10.7.5.

Feb 28, 2014 1:26 AM in response to bumpwhiteby SEBarker,I too had been having download issues with OS X Mavericks and wanted to upgrade from my OS 10.6.8 - even though I had made sure hardware/software and RAM could all take it.
On looking through page after page of people having same trouble downloading mavericks - many were having my same problem that the download stalled after reaching 1GB???
Apparently many ISP's wont permit large downloads so one contributor kindly included a link for VPN which hides ones identity ...
I FOUND SOLUTION !!!
- COULD SOMEONE ADD THIS TO MAVERICK DOWNLOAD PAGE TO HELP OTHERS ...
I downloaded software which set up a VPN connection to make me Anonymous – the apple forum recommended a FREE download and troublefree install/setup from Hotspot Shield (http://www.hotspotshield.com/). I researched this and all feedback from users seemed good not bad!
I downloaded Hotspot, easy! it installed automatically, easy! Then restarted the browser and tried the download again – still stalled – BUT restarted computer and tried one last time and HEY PRESTO - I got the full OS X Mavericks to download!!!
GOOD LUCK!

Mar 31, 2014 2:15 PM in response to sophiaa_cby FjFarah,I have looked through this discussion and haven't read anything about anyone else having this problem, but seconds after I hit the download button red text appears saying "An error has occured." It is a free upgrade, I don't have these issues with other downloads - even from the app store, and I have tried all listed solutions.
Is there a separate set of solutions I should try for this particular problem?

Jul 28, 2014 10:18 PM in response to John Galtby daveyshire,Hi John, Thanks for all the great and detailed info. Im a little behind the times but heres my 2 cents.
The terminal fix appears to have worked for me.
Im on a 2008 iMac 2.66ghz 4gb ram upgrading from 10.6.8 to 10.9.4
My process was: Sign out and quit App Store > Clear Caches and Preferences> Restart CPU> Open terminal and run code> Open App store Clear Cookies and Reset App. Actually I had to reset it twice before anything changed but so far so good.
Will follow up with you when the download finishes.
Looks like its gonna take about an hour to complete.
