What can I do with an outdated iPad?
iPad 1 can't be updated to IOS 7 and now apps are beginning to stop working if I update apps. Is there anything I can do?

No, but you can trade it in to get money towards a new iPad, if that's the route you want to take. Or you could just keep it and buy a new iPad and keep the one you have now. The problem is the iPad 1 is just too old to get the new iOS and it is unfortunately outdated.
Hi Neannee,
Can you be more specific about what app updates have caused the apps to stop working on your iPad 1? I also have an iPad 1, and so far, have had no problems with apps or anything else for that matter.
Just thinking if we had a better idea of the specific problems we might be able to provide better help?

We'll mine is approaching 3 years old but still works fine and is great for watching TV series/films and playing games. I'll probably let the kids have it now I have the Air.
Hi Dynamicworm,
Sounds like we have the same stuff! I still have my iPad 1, and use it mostly for reading and photo editing. Once I got my Macbook Air, it became my go to option. It is just as portable (to me) as my iPad, and so much faster when it comes to the internet functionality (not to mention that having a real keyboard is perfect for me!).
But I still love my iPad, and the one other app that I still use on it pretty much exlusively is Star Walk....love to look at the nighttime sky with that app.

Hi Gail, I have an iPad Air rather than the MacBook Air - thought it was a good time to renew. Still love my iPad 1 though, the battery life is amazing and it's built like a tank. It's a bit clunky doing certain things but I reckon I'll get another few years out of it.
Hahaha! I totally agree....I have a fond connection with it being the first one and all. And you are right - it is built like a tank! I love it!
Funny about the "Air" part! I hear Air, I think Macbook! Totally forgot about the iPad Air. Hoping you are loving it! Like I said, with my Macbook Air, it is so light and portable, that I tote it around everywhere with me. I just can type so much faster with a regular keyboard.... đ
