My Wifi keeps randomly disconnecting on my iMac (late 2012) since upgrading to Mavericks.

My Wifi keeps randomly disconnecting on my iMac (late 2012) since upgrading to Mavericks.

When connecting using Ethernet it is fine.

I also have an older macbook (2008) and it is running Mavericks and have the same issue.

Before upgrading to Mavericks, I have never had an issue with Wifi disconnects.

Thanks,

Joe

Here are some WiFi troubleshooting tips that helped some users on Lion and Mountain Lion. They may possibly still be relevant to Mavericks.

In no particular order:

Check wifi security - if it's WEP change it to WPA or WPA2 (preferably, as it's more secure)

Change the wifi channel on the router

Create a new Network Location: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5289

Reboot the router

Also take a look at this link and the links within the article for other ideas. They mainly reference Lion, but still seem to be relevant to Mountain Lion and Mavericks:
