Mac Mini two monitors in Portrait mode doesn't work

I have a mid 2011 Mac Mini and I've been trying to have two monitors in portrait mode for my work. Once I've rotated the second one to 90 or 270 degrees, it "freezes" -- I can see the mouse move, but the apps on that screen will not respond. I've recently installed Mavericks, but the same thing happens. I see others have had this problem in previous discussions, but I can't find any solution.

I look at your post several times.

Problem is that, I'm not having anyproblems with two 21.5" Samsung monitors connected to my 2010 Mac Mini. Both are connected using DVI connections, one is on the Apple supplied HDMI to DVI Adapter and the other is on a Kanex Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter.

Perhaps we could spot an issue, if you tell us what monitors, what adapters and what cables are you using...?
