Location services not working on apps?

I didn't know where else to put this so I put it here.

I have an iPod Touch and an iPad and it's not showing my location on either of those.

It is turned on, so before you say that, yes. I'm not that stupid. It's also not restricted. It can't be a problem with my router because when I use my laptop, it shows the right location.

Why is it not working on my iPod and iPad? Please help me. It's incredibly frustrating because I use an app that requires location services and I haven't been able to use it because these devices can't find my location.

Does it have anything to do with a MAC address? I just changed my routers MAC address to "default" a few moments ago thinking that had something to do with it.

Just please help. It's worked before, but all of a sudden it just stopped.

Also, when I google "weather" on my iPod/iPad, it tells me where I am, but when I use apps, like Facebook, the popular apps near me, and Whisper, it says it can't find my location.

iPod touch, iOS 7.0.3

First, go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Location Services AND the app are enabled. If they are greyed out, go to Settings > General > Restrictions.

Reset your device by holding the home and power button down at the same time until it reboots. No data will be lost.

Delete the app and reinstall it.

Settings > General > Reset > Location & Privacy

Settings > General > Reset > Network Settings

If none that works, restore your device.

If that doesn't work, there is either a problem with your app or network.

For location the iPod uses the location of nearby wifi routers that are in Apple's database. You do not have to be connected to the network/router to use that router's location. It identifies the routers via their MAC address. So changing the MAC address is the cause of your problem

Apple continuously updated their database based on info they obtain from iPhones. No one has been able to find a way to inform Apple of a router or correct is location.

Don't know if this is of any use to anyone but recently upgraded router to BT hub4, after which couldn't get location services at home for Google maps, BBC weather apps etc, but worked fine on other wifi connections eg at work. After many hours trying to find a solution on various forums, and mulling it over with a cuppa at home, I just thought I'd try disabling location services in settings for the individual apps concerned (having first closed the apps), then tried opening these apps...obviously no joy there. Then closed the apps again, went back into settings and enabled location services for the individual apps and hey presto it worked- location services now working at home on my apps.

I have the problem that neither my Retina MBP or wifi iPad have had the correct location for over two months now. They are in the wrong country. They both think they are still at my UK house in Sussex, UK, whereas I have been in the south of France since early April. I have had a couple of long discussions with Apple and got up to the third level genius. They were stumped after trying all sort of things and deleting various plist and cache files. They suggested I registered the MAC addresses and geolocation of my local modems with Skyhook, which I did. I was then a bit of a party pooper, when I reminded them that Apple no longer used Skyhook as a location driver. My house in France is a bit isolated until later in the year, when other temporary residents turn up at their nearby houses for the summer season, so there are no other wifi signals for triangulation purposes. This is not a satisfactory situation, as if either of my devices were stolen, they would report the wrong location on "find my device". Location used to work perfectly when Apple used Skyhook.

As I said before, yo need to get people with iPones to come over.

Apple periodically updates their database based on information they obtain from iPhones, The iPhone has to have turned on the option to send info to Apple. No one has found another way to get the location of a router added/corrected.

I have no idea what the Apple person mentions Skyhook since, as you said, Apple no longer uses that service.
