How can I tell if my iMac has a 2013 fusion drive

How can I tell if my iMac has the newer 2013 version of the Fusion drive? I just recived a BTO imac with the 3TB fusion drive on the first of November, and it came with the old 10.8.4 software, so I'm a little concerned that I may have gotten an "old" October 2012 model, and not a new design 2013 model.

Thanks Dan

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

The Late 2013 iMac was released with OS X Mountain Lion, so I wouldn't be worried if the Mac came with OS X 10.8.4.

You can check if you have got Fusion Drive in Disk Utility. Then, have a look at the sidebar, and you should see two "Macintosh HD" entries at the top. This is the main sign you have got Fusion Drive.

Then, open  > Software Update, and install the latest OS X version. Also, if you want, you can upgrade to OS X Mavericks for free by downloading it from the Mac App Store. Make a backup of your files with Time Machine

Are you looking to see if you got one of the new iMac;s with the Haswell chip and the SSD connected via PCIe?

Don't have one here but I suspect you might find some information if you run System Information. Click the Apple icon, press the option key, System Information will be the first entry in the menu.

Not sure where you should look but look through the hardware settings, Hardware overview should show the PC installed and the model identifier of the iMac. Check out the identifier at the Apple site to see what the system is.

Thanks for that Article Frank. I purchased my iMac towards the end of January 2013 & same arrived around the middle of March 2013. All this time I thought I had the 2013 model! However, according to the Article, I have a late 2012!!! 😮

Do you know what month starts the 2013 models?
