I'm not getting anywhere. I've also asked Hewlett Packard for help, but they haven't answered. Here's what I asked them. Maybe you can help.

I am waiting for a reply to another question, but I'd also appreciate a few words on the meaning and use of the "Auto Selection" and "Descreen" buttons on the scanning control board.

(1) "Auto Selection" leads you to: (A) Off (B)  Detect Separate Items, and (C) Detect Enclosing Box.

What do these terms mean? More importantly, when do you use them?

(2) What does "Descreen" mean, and when do you use it, or not use it?

I have a HP psc 1350 all-in-one. Since the above may not be clear enough, I'll add that I want to know how I can combine separate scans. What brought this up is that I saw a poem that I wanted to print, but it extended over two pages. So, how can I combine two scans so that I can  print the poem as one piece?
