How do you get rid of the thunderbolt bridge?

Hi,

Since I have downloaded Mavericks, my wifi has been slow, and keeps losing connection and when I go on into Network Diagnostics it comes up with the Thunderbolt Bridge. I have no use for the Thunderbolt bridge and it seems to be slowing my computer down.

Please help!

Thanks

Mac OS X (10.7.5)

It's not just a Thunderbolt/ Mavericks feature.

You can do a similar thing over Firewire, it allows you to network 2 Macs when no ethernet or wifi was available. You would also get lightning fast transfers Mac to Mac over Firewire or Thunderbolt using IP networking. You can even daisychain via disks & hubs too !

If one Mac is on a real network (ethernet or wifi) with internet you can also share this via TB & internet sharing.

It's not something everyone needs, so you are right about deleting the option or drag it to the bottom of the 'Service order' list, but it is pretty neat if you need fast networking & only have a TB or Firewire cable.

The OS will try to fall back to any type of connection in the service list, so you should probably investigate why the other types of connection are dropping.

You don't need to remove it, just drag it to the bottom of the service list and set the service inactive (both can be managed in the 'settings gear' as mentioned above).

The only way to prevent it existing in the list is to buy a Mac without Thunderbolt (or use an OS without this feature).

If you are certain you have issues with this then you may be better off explaining what the problem is, it's difficult to see how an unused & disconected connector can slow a Mac?
