I'm thinking about getting an airport for my G4 MDD 1Ghz PowerMac.

How would I know which card to get? Can I still get it from the Apple Store?

Many thanks

Hola Macky, I bought a PCI wireless card from MacWireless.com, it works great...

    Good luck,

Use the information in this article to determine which model of G4 you have; the only PowerMac G4 configurations which will accept an AirPort Extreme card are the FireWire 800 models. The regular AirPort card is not available from the Apple Store.

I believe I have the Power Mac G4 Mirrored Drive Doors 1.25 Ghz Single Processor. However, I'm not sure if it is the regular MDD or the 2003 MDD Model...I know for sure is not the FW 800.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks !!

Your computer will take the regular AirPort card or a third-party wireless PCI card; at this point, it's probably easier and cheaper to find a third-party card. In addition, some third-party cards support the faster 802.11g protocol, which the original AirPort card does not; an AirPort card can be used with a network mixed between 802.11b and 802.11g devices. The AirPort Extreme card is not compatible with your machine.

Do you have any tips on where, which one and how much? thanks

To get an AirPort card, try one of the links posted in this thread. You may be able to get a third-party wireless card from any store which carries Mac products.

    Macky -

Yours is the 2003 model - it's the only time they had a single 1.25 GHz. As such, as other have said, you would have to find a used AirPort card or buy a 3rd party one. For my own, I like the cleaner installation of the AirPort card, and it saves a PCI slot
