Cannot sync Google calendar on iPad Air

My Google calendar is not showing up on my iPad Air. While added my Gmail account to the iPad mail client, I made sure to select the 'Calendar' option. Is there anything else that I need to do? The iOS version is 7.0.3.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Hi

I am having the exact same problem! I have tried everything.

I have tried the exact same settings I use on my iPhone 5, and on my ipads (1.gen, 3.gen AND 4. gen) but only on my new iPad Air - no syncing! My calendar doesnt even appear in the calendar as an option to show (or not). Same issue trying to add my wifes gmail calendar - also working neatly on all of the above mentioned devices!

I am using the m.google.com server (setup as exchange)- as I don't want all of my wife's multiple collegue-shared calendar-reminders. But this is the setting that works for me everywhere else!

If I use the pre-set google-mail/calendar option (not exchange) I am apple to get my calendar in calendar-app. Though this do work for my on my account - I won't use it for my wife's (because I cant seem to turn off all of her collegues reminders (though I can turn of showing their calendars...))

Hope someone can shead some light on this matter!

I had a similar problem as you and went through the different suggestions with no success. What did it for me in the end was a simple "reset all settings" under Settings app -> General -> Reset. You will have to reconfigure a few things e.g. wifi password, wallpaper setting, ringtone etc; but you will regain access to your calendar sync.

(I updated from iPad 2 with iOS 6.1 to iPad Air, used the back up and restore option. The old gmail calendar (which used the exchange protocol) appeared but I soon realised that all the new events I added since then were not synced to the iPad air, i.e. the iPad Air is only displaying all the calendar items that were already there in the iPad 2 but it's not actually synced to the Google server. I then deleted the exchange account altogether (as I realised Google stopped supporting the exchange protocol in new devices), and tried to set up a new CalDAV account via the instructions by Google, and this is how I ran into "no calendar showing" situation)

I found a fix. Signing up with outlook settings didn't workshop for me. Setting a caldav account worked. THE server path in your caldav should be https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/YOURMAIL@DOMAIN.COM/user//www.google.com/calendar/dav/YOURMAIL@DOMAIN.COM/user . Make sure you use your accountante on the yourmail part only. The ending of the path should be user, not your account/name.

This did the trick for me on my iPad air.

Still can't get mine to work after trying everything above except the caldav account setup. I have an iPhone 4S with iOS 7 on which it worked and an ipad 2 with iOS 7 on which the gmail calendar will not show up. Why is this so difficult? It just basically happened on my phone... Can I get clear instructions on the caldav account setup? Although that seems to be a work around as it just worked fine on the iPhone with the exact same settings...

Thanks

Same problem here.

iPad replaced and new iPad restored from recent backup. Result: google calendar events no longer synced with google cloud. Attempted to solve by deleting google acc from iPad and recreating. Result: iPad no longer showed any google calendar events. Google support no help at all. Led me to https://www.google.com/calendar/syncselect which I unticked and reticked with no change - no google calendar visible on iPad even though all options set correctly and email working fine. Final solution was to create caldav account on iPad. Calendars now working. No thanks to google support. Thanks to wilver.

Some changes to wilver's response. pasatiempo49 is correct. On initial create caldav screen, type www.google.com for server and enter https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/YOURMAIL@DOMAIN.COM/user//www.google.com/calendar/dav/YOURMAIL@DOMAIN.COM/user on Advanced screen. On wilver's post the URL shows twice. I assume this is a rendering problem caused by a conversion - the URL should only be entered once, starting with https and ending with /user - no closing slash.

I now have two gmail accounts on my iPad. One with calendar and one with mail and contacts.

Thanks to you ALL for this post! It saved me. I upgraded from iPad2 (where my google calendar set up and synced beautifully and automatically) to iPad Air recently -- And my google calendar would NOT sync! Ugh -- I was spending way too much time on this, until I found your stupendous post! Setting up the CalDav account for my Google calendar separately from my Google mail account (following the instructions above) worked like a peach. 😉
