Does anyone know the supported audio formats for the latest version Garageband for Mac (i.e. 2013), including sample rate and bit depth?

I can't seem to find this specification on Apple website, including Garageband Help online resource.

What I found are as follows, but these specs might not apply to the latest Garageband for Mac:

I only found this in the GarageBand Help: It des not specify the bitdepth and sample rate.

Just experiment and try to import different kind of files, and please post your results here 🙂

Import audio and MIDI files

You can import audio files of the following file types into a GarageBand project: AIFF, CAF, WAV, AAC (except protected AAC files), Apple Lossless, and MP3.

You can also import MIDI files into a GarageBand project. MIDI is a standard file format for synthesizers and other electronic music instruments. MIDI files do not contain recorded sound, but do contain data that electronic instruments can use to produce music. MIDI files are available online and can also be exported by many popular music software applications.

GB has always been restricted to a 44.1k sample rate, the bit depth was originally restricted to 16, but later opened up to a depth 24 bits as well as 16. i've yet to see anything boasting about raising either of these limits in version 10.
