Dear all,

I had an iMac running Snow Leopard + iWork'08.

I've just bought a Mac Book Air running Maverick + Numbers 3.0.

I can' open files created with Numers '08. System says that I have to upgrade files first with Numbers '09.

Unfortunately, I have not Numbers '09.

Anybody know how to open Numbers '08 files in Numbers 3.0 ?

Thanks for your help.

    Petit L,

Contact Applecare. They should help you with this.

Another user posted here that they had this problem and Apple is sending them an iWork '09 disk. That's the best outcome, because you may find that you prefer iWork '09 to the Mavericks versions of the iWork apps.

If you can't get help at the first level of AppleCare, ask to be transferred to Customer Relations.

A couple of other options would be to buy the retail box of iWork '09 from a third party such as or eBay. Be sure to run Software Update after installing & before running any of the applications. You can also download the standalone updater from this page. Or check this link for the iWork '09 trial. I have no idea if it is still available.
