Mavericks and Apple mail

hi there

I am begining to think Mavericks is a really phoney "upgrade". New functions are uninteresting and Apple Mail is completely broken now.

Answers to this problem in the Apple help data base are as phoney as the rest.

Apple Mail is now constantly requesting my passwors mail account now not only in gmail but in iCloud mail. I have tried all the solutions proposed but none are doing anything . And the solution of deleting the mail corresponding keychains and then repair permission is not a solution either.

The top is when Apple help says that if all of this doesn't work it's your ISP that you have to contact, when Mavericks is the problem.

They says they are triyng to solve the issue preparing an upgrade for mail !!

They should have though of this before.

Apple should stop to propose beta versions as "upgrades".

For example, Maps is so phony that when I ask a place in Paris, Ile de France they put me in the middle of Atlantic Ocean. They are not ready to compete with Google Maps really

Back up all data.

Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.

Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.

If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.

Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select Change Settings for Keychain "login". In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.

From the menu bar, select

Keychain Access Preferences First Aid

If the box marked Keep login keychain unlocked is not checked, check it.

Select

Keychain Access Keychain First Aid

from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.

Thanks to all those who proposed solutions.

Hi Monica and Linc Davis

In fact for me, a very simple solution worked. I am sorry that I don't remember in what discussion I found it and who proposed it.

In system preference Internet connection I disconnected all mails from all my account (iCloud Google)

Then when I open Apple mail of course there wasn't any more mail account so I recreate my iCloud account and it automatically restore itself with my mail name and as Monica says with Apple token instead of Password authentification.

Every thing all right now

Thanks
