Epson Stylus Photo PX710W is not compatible with Mavericks

I still cannot scan with my Epson Stylus Photo PX710W. My scan driver (scan.app version 3.7.1) is not compatible with Mavericks. Who can help me?

Epson does not react to my question when the correct driver will be available.

Epson indicate to their FAQ’s, but this is will not help since the ICA scan only works when my printer/scanner is connected to my Mac via USB. I bought this EPSON printer/scanner because it was wireless. Now after just 3 years I miss this important option.

I see a lot of discussion about Epson scan drivers but little help from Epson

Who can lead me to an appropriate scan driver for my Epson device?

iMac (21.5-inch Late 2009), OS X Version 10.9 (Maverick)

Sorry but for me this is a no go.

I cant use my Epson PX710W with Epson Scan via WLAN any more.

So what should i do? Downgrade my OSX or buy a new Scaner?

If Epson did not release a suitable Driver in short time i will thow this device out of my window

and never buy a Epson Product again. Epson has had the possibility to develope

a driver since the Beta Version of Mavericks but i think they will sell new products.

Shame!!!

P.S.

sorry for my bad english

Your English is OK.

You maight connect your Epson Stylus Photo PX710W via cable and usb to your iMac. Then choose /applications/image capture and at least you ca scan. Second mtehod is choose /system preferences/printer & scanners/ and choose the scan option (next to print option).

I know it's not wireless but at least you be able to scan.

Further shoot as much mails to Epson helpdesk as you can.

And I am certainly not impressed with the way they are now implying on their website that scanner update software IS available for the PX710W. But not from Epson; FROM APPLE, via Software Update. Well, it isn't.

Like you, when I buy a new MFP, it certainly won't be from Epson.

(But for the time being, I'll wait patiently for them to publish Mavericks compatible software.)

I'll support mhh's recommendation for Canon over Epson.

I recently installed a Canon on an iMac for a friend in China. The software installed like a dream in English; everything worked first time via USB and wirelessly. Print, copy, scan. We then did another install in Mandarin; same positive experience. And can switch easily between the two. Unusually useful software too.

I just asked Epson again to inform me about the precise date for an update for EPSON Stylus Photo PX710W.

I also asked Epson on behalve of many others.

I also asked if it is reasonable to presume that my only 3,5 year old device will be updated.

So, if not I have to buy a nes printer/scanner and it surely will not an Epson one.

And asked them if it is their intention to update keep me and many others as customers.

I am anxious with what excuse Epson will provide me.

Amazing,

Answer from Epson within 5 minutes.

Message from Epson: "Unfortunately I still have to ask for more patience, since there is no more at this moment. We are very busy with it (should they mean making an update????)"

Shamefull advice from Epson: "Perhaps you should do what I did? I put the previous version back on my Mac and can scan again." So put back your Mountain Lion version back on your Mac, why not Snow Leopard or Tiger.

This absolutely is a correct answer. Epson is not able to perform adequate service to their customers. Have they slept since Apple made available their BETA version of Mavericks a few month ago.

Just received from Epson, nice people...

"Thank you for contacting Epson's UK Customer Inter@ction Centre.

"The Scan software provided will allow you to scan by opening 'Epson Scan' from the Mac directly. the Epson Event Manager software required to enable the Push to Scan function from the printer's control panel is no longer supported under OSX 10.9 with no release date for an update to this. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused."
