Could you send the directory is list view? I need to see the size and the dates of the files. Also could you lower the res on your screen as I cannot make out the names of the files.

Jim, in list view it says size, but it just has – – and not size written so it is pointless me doing another screen grab like that. As for screen res, just click the picture above and it opens bigger.

In the finder menu, select view and in the dropdown menu select Show view options. make sure that you have a finder window open. You can see sizes by selecting Calcuate all sizes near the bottom of the show view options. I usually have this turned off as it does slow your system when you open up a finder window and it calculates the sizes. Again, give it time to do its thing.
Can you send/receive mail?

Jim, I've just put them all back using TimeMachine and all is fine now.
Also, just now I noticed a software update for Mail in Mavericks so Apple obviously know there are issues.
Thansk for your help.
