Bluetooth will not turn on - ipad3 - ios7

upgraded to ios7 and my bluetooth will not turn on, the little grey spinnign icon just keeps spinning, and it says bluetooth off in the settings list (on the left in settings area). This is not a pairing issue, i literally cannot get the ipad to have the little green toggle button to show up.

things i have tried:

power down - holding the top power button until it shuts off

hard reset - holding both the top and front buttons until the devices powers down

reset all settings

factory restore with restore backup

factory restore starting fresh without a back-up restore

no matter what i do, i can't get my bluetooth to turn on (show the little green toggle and display a list of available devices)

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 7.0.3

there are available devices to pair with, and it finds nothing. i have compared it to other ipads in the area and there is a little green toggle regardless of whether there are other pairable devices available or not on these other ipads. the bluetooth is definitely not functioning on mine.

look at yours - do you see a green toggle even when there are no devices to pair with?

this also happened to my dad's ipad mini, plus in addition to bluetooth problem my wifi seems to be not working, sometimes the switch is greyed out, then after some restarts it would work then disconnects every 5 seconds, then sometimes it shows wifi connected but cannot get any data. i already tried all possible solutions like upgrading software and restoring through itunes but still the problem persists, seems it is already beyond my powers to fix it so i am bringing it for apple for warranty claim since my warranty is until april 2014.

Last night my iPad 2 would no longer recognize my Logitech Solar Keyboard Folio. What a thought to try to sleep on!

This afternoon I successfully paired my bluetooth earbuds and listened to music as I searched this discussion.

Somewhere I found the suggestion to forget the keyboard. That took a bit of doing, but eventually it was forgotten. I then successfully repaired it. I tested it in Evernote but the screen keyboard came up instead. I tried all kinds of tricks to get rid of the screen keyboard and none worked.

Then the iPad hung up. The home button wouldn't take me back to the main screen. The off button did nothing. I took the iPad out of the folio and held the off button for a long time. Shortly after I let go of the off button the iPad turned off.

I rebooted, put the iPad back in the keyboard folio, successfully paired them, and now everything works!

I have been working with computers for over 50 years and with Macs since 1984. And each year it seems that "magic" works better than anything else in fixing the almost daily problems with them. We ain't seen nothing yet in what computers can do, but don't hold your breath waiting for their operation to be "seamless". They will probably come about at the seams just as often or more so as they become simpler to use but more complex in what makes them simpler to use.

I highly doubt the logic board is the issue here. This is not the first time I have heard this happening and I have a hard time believeing that there are so many pepople that were okay on ios 6 and then suddenly with ios 7 they have hardware problems

I have heard many people try many things, and no one seems to have a complete story where they have tried everything and the problem still persists so here is my story with bluetooth…

I have an iphone 5, upgraded to ios 7 with no problems under ios 6

My wife has the same phone & upgraded with the same path as me without any problems.

I find that my bluetooth crashes frequently. The symptoms for my situation include:

bluetooth disconnecting from any type of bluetooth device tested

Car (3 different tested)

Fitness tracker (2 tested)

Wireless speaker (1 tested)

hands free devices (3 tested)

The control center may show bluetooth on or off, and you can toggle the setting in the control center, but that does not result in any changes.

The bluetooth icon in the top right of the screen disappears.

In the settings under bluetooth it just has a spinning wheel and will not display on or off.

Attempted fixes

Restart phone - this rarely fixes the problem

Wait - sometimes waiting can work but I need to wait for 1-2 hours. Then bluetooth will crash again.

Reboot by holding both buttons - this will generally work, but only for a short time before the problem returns after 10-15 min.

Reset all settings - no effect

Erase all data and reset - no effect

Rename phone - no effect

Putting phone into airplane mode and back - sometimes works, but problem returns

Putting into airplane mode then resetting settings - no effect

Backing up phone and restore - no effect

Upgraded to 7.0.1, .2, .3, .4 - no effect

delete phone parings on ios & bluetooth devices & repair - no effect

I am hoping that this is a fix that can be repaired in 7.1 as I live 5 hours away from the closest Apple store…
