duel microphone holes on the late 2013 MacBook Pro 15"

Are you meant to be able to see the duel microphone holes on the late 2013 MacBook Pro 15"

It shows them on the tech specs on the apple site and most other places I've seen, but mine doesn't have the holes.

Is it also common that pages, numbers and keynote were not automatically installed when I bought it new?

When setting up the new macbook I got an email saying;

Your Apple ID was used to sign in to iCloud on a MacBook Pro 13"

However it is a 15"... Should I be worried? I bought this off the online store.

Well since no one here was of any help,

I called Apple and they informed me that it is a manufacturing issue and should have the microphone holes on the side.

My late 2013 15" MBP Retina doesn't have the two holes either. But the microphones work very well and are pretty sensitive, so I guess that they moved them somewhere else e.g. underneath the speaker grills instead of just forgetting to drill the holes.

It turns out that the Apple rep you talked to was incorrect. It took a while to find but Apple's documentation says "Dual microphones precisely oriented under the speaker grille..." for the 15" model.

Go to the bottom of the page and click on the Mics button.

Hope this clears up any confusion.

On the page you reference, it has labeled the pictures as for the 13-inch model. My guess is that the 15-inch model has them "under the speaker grille", while the 13-inch has two holes.

If you do what I said - "Go to the bottom of the page and click on the Mics button." you will see the description - "under the speaker grille"
