What is the best stylus for note taking on the iPad Air?
I'm guessing fine point works best.

I use the adonit jot pro, it's really good for precision, I use it to take notes. If you pressure sensitivity then you can go for the adonit jot touch 4. The Jaja by hex 3 is another one that's good for precision, and it also has pressure sensitivity, a review on pcmag however says it's has build issues. The review is below, the adonit jot touch which you'll see on the review is the old version.
I also like the Jot Pro, but I recently switch to the brand new Adonit Jot Script, and it's working great for me! Some people were asking questions about it, and about handwriting on the iPad in general, so I decided to do videos to show how this works for me. I think it can help you find the best stylus!
My only problem with this stylus is the amount of noise it makes - ideally if I am in a meeting, i dont want to keep hearing the clanking sound of the tip hitting the glass. In addition - i cant imagine it is good for the glass...
The amPen Hybrid Stylus is a great stylus for using with iPad Air. It works with both tapping motions, drawing and also writing. The quality is very nice and the end of the tip is soft so it will not leave marks on your iPad. I lik Product link below:
I think the best stylus for taking notes is one with a fine tip. The High Precision Fine Tip Stylus works great for me!
TruGlide Apex is my absolute favorite! It is a "fine point active stylus". I've tried it with Noteshelf and Notes Plus. It's super easy and smooth for taking notes!
The Adonit pro stylus has a fine tip stylus which means you can get better writing accuracy which I would recommend,
Alternatively you can get a thicker nibbed stylus such as Bamboo stylus
Just want to share my experience with stylus for writing on iPad Air. I use my iPad a lot at work for writing meeting notes. I had an iPad2 until recently and was using Lifetrons High Tech Multi Stylus with conductive multi cloth trip and it works perfectly. However, the same stylus does not work on iPad Air. I bought aN Adonit Jot Flip and that didn't work either. Both stylus were intermittent, missing strokes in between writing which was very frustrating.
Finally I bought a STM Tracer Deluxe Stylus with a rubber tip and it works! The rubber tip has a matt but smooth texture so it writes quite easily without much friction. At the moment I think this is the best stylus for iPad Air.
Just curious with the Jot Pro, any issues with scratching of the ipad...i have heard a ton of reports and was worried
For notes and drawing I love the Adonit Touch Pressure Sensitive stylus. It's by far the best quality stylus that you can buy right now.
For me the best ipad stylus is the Bamboo stylus. I use it especially with the Beesyapp. It’s a note taking app I use for meeting notes mostly. I use the Bamboo stylus to draw quick diagrams and add handwritten comments on pictures and website screenshots. I also like to draw on the Paper app with the stylus and it’s really enjoyable.
I recommend you the stylus both apps!
I just got LYNKtec's Apex Rechargeable and it is the best note taking experience I have had with a stylus. It is rechargeable (no more batteries) and the grip is more comfortable so it feels like you are writing with a pen. I love it!
So, I bought the Adonit Jot Touch 4 Bluetooth Pressure Sensitive Stylus from Amazon. It didn't really satisfy me. This particular stylus uses a hard plastic disc which when write on a glass surface, it's quite slippery. There is no drag on the tip of the stylus. I bought the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 with the S-Pen and I loved it. I like to know if anyone sells a stylus like the S-Pen that works on the iPad. Many stylus for iPad that I've seen has a large tip and that's not accurate when taking notes. I want a small tip just like a pen/pencil but with a rubber type tip so there is some slight drag when write. Any suggestion is much appreciated.
I guess it depends on the use you make of it. Personally I'm using my iPad for business with the all-in-one app Beesy and I use the latest bamboo stylus for some handwritten notes and above all for scheme drawing. It works perfect, however if I don't handwrite notes so often...
Yes I agree that fine point styluses are better for note taking so have a look at Adonit fine point styluses,
Another brand that no one seems to have mentioned is Pencil by 53, it's quite expensive but I love mine for drawing and writing as it has palm rejection which I think is quite important.
