Is it still possible to download Mountain Lion - every link I try turns into Mavericks download?

Having stuck doggedly to Snow Leopard this far, I don't want to become a guinea pig for 10.9 and have no idea how many of my normal programmes would run smoothly

Thank you Mende: the URL to buy the beast with UK substituted for US has worked

Roaring Apps doesn't even list my my main use programmes, never mind speculate on which OS they may work, but am confident that 10.8 will be OK

Fingers crossed for DVD to pop through door

BTW I use SuperDuper for back-ups & I love the way I can plug the HD into our 15" MBP and run it just as if it was my 17"

I had it in mind that if I don't like Mountain Lion, I can erase the internal HD and return to 10.6.8 via the external HD (The computer had a damaged 10.8 installed when I bought it used)

I assume Mountain Lion will not affect my files other than the system when I upgrade, or is this not the case? I know I will lose some files processed in 10.8 if I do revert to 10.6.8.

If you are suggesting I change my back-up to Time Machine, should I do this before upgrading? I never understood the Recovery volume
