Is is possible to get a Netflix app for 1st generation iPad, IOS 5.1.1.?

I'm a new NetFlix user and I want to watch NetFlix on my 1st generation iPad. THe current NetFlix app available in the App store requires a minimum of IOS 6. The iPAD 1 maxes out at IOS 5.1.1.? Is there any way to obtain an older version of the app that is support in the iPAD 1?

It is possible, a bit of a hassle, but possible. First, you'll need to download the Netflix app through iTunes on your computer, this will make it show up as "purchased" in your library. After that, open up the App Store on your iPad 1 and go to the 'purchased' tab. When you try to install it this way it will tell you that you need iOS 6 or higher, but will also ask if you would like to download an older version of the app.

All so i have had the same run in with my 5.1.1 first gen ipad. Its quite easy once you figure it out dont just keep trying over and over.

When in the app store and going to download your app you have to scroll down under the app photos and on the right there will be a icon asking you if you want the Current Version or All Versions. Make sure you click All Versions.

Works like a champ

I figured it out. I was signed in to 2 different apple accounts in iTunes on the laptop versus the App Store on the iPad. I logged out and back into the same account on the iPad, which caused it to ask me endlessly for my password. I forced App Store to quit and started it back up, then Netflix showed up and I was able to install the older version. *phew*

Thank you. I'm so pleased to learn this work around. It worked virtually perfectly. The initial install of the app after returning to the iPad stalled. I just deleted it, and then reinstalled with no problem.

So annoying though that iTunes didn't offer to load a compatible version in the first place.

I will now try the same process with other apps that I've been unable to install under ios 5.0.1.
