Macbook Air Crashing after unplugging display

Hey so since I updated my Macbook Air (mid 2012) to Mavericks it will crash after I unplug my display. The display is non thunderbolt. I get the say error message, that something happened and the computer had to be restarted. Then I get the same diagnostic report to send off. Can anyone help me with this ?
