Try reset iPad

Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

Note: Data will not be affected.

I had the same problem... The screen has a backlight, but no display and you can unlock it and hear the sound when you screen shot and put it on charge huh? Yeah listen carefully, I know it sounds crazy but it worked for me, take the iPad out of any cover you have, place it screen down on your lap and smack the back with the palm of your hand. With increasing strength in your smacks. Mine worked 3rd time and now it's back to normal. I know it's crazy but it will save you a lot of money in repairs :) good luck!
