Automator Action 'New PDF Contact Sheet' returns a blank page

I have this question too and the new version (10.9.2) doesn't seem to solve the problem. 😟

Same issue here. after creating the automator service, it worked the first time creating a pdf with all pictures, all next runs are creating a blank pdf. What can i do to solve this.

i had a set of workflows that used to work while using 10.7.5.

After the upgrade to Mavericks, it returned a blank pdf... If you read the Action description, it now accepts URL inputs instead of files. Can't remember whether it was the same when it used to work 😕

It works for me. Here's the workflow I setup:

If the application is open dropping a folder of photos on it won't work. I get the blank doucment. One has to use the File ➙ Open menu and select the folder of photos.

Old Toad, does this work for you if you compile an application instead of a workflow? I am having trouble with an existing automator application that worked in Mountain Lion. I only get blank pdf's when I try to execute. It seems that using MakePDF.app to create a contact sheet no longer works directly either.

After saving as an application and running it it seems to work until I try to save it as a PDF. The resulting PDF is blank. The MakePDF app is the culprit. Send a report to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html.

You can create the contact sheet manually with Preview. Drag the photos onto the Preview icon to import them in to Preview. Then select View ➙ Contact Sheet menu option.

Finally save as new PDF file. However, this way the user has no control over the number of columns per page.

Same result. I filed a bug report for this.

Perhaps it's a permissions thing? If you go to System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Accessibility there is a window on the right that says "Allow the apps below to control your computer." Check the box for the Automator.app then see if it will work.

With Yosemite I'm getting the same results as you. Be sure to report it to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html

NOTE: You can always create a pdf contact sheet with iPhoto. That still works both with Mavericks and Yosemite.
