Q: Belkin bluetooth keypad

Has anyone managed to get their MacBook Pro to pair with Belkins F8T067 bluetooth keypad with Maverick 10.9 ?

I just bought one today... from an Apple Store.... took it home and spent a very frustrating hour trying to set it up, and failed miserably.

I successfully got the MacBook Pro to pair with the keypad, but it couldn't identify it correctly and the OS only offered 3 different standard keyboard options, none of which were appropriate. In fact the "idiot mode" setup trying identify the keyboard kept insisting that I only needed to press the key to the left of the shift key to identify it.....which of course doesn't exist as its a KEYPAD dummy !

I can't believe that apple has completely overlooked that their flagship new OS doesn't seem to support bluetooth keypads that they sell in all their Apple Stores.

And I can't believe also that Belkin make absolutely no mention of this problem and a solution on their website and their setup info on their website is obviously dated.

Come on people.... this kind of screw-up is what we like to poke fun at our competition for !!

Anyone got any suggested solutions for me ?

I agree the support on this has been extremely shotty, but I am so glad I found out how to remap the keys to what ever I want.

I have had a couple days now to play around with the "key board maestro" program now and have changed all of the keys to do some cool stuff.  It can be as simple as setting  the 4 keys on the left to to simulate the  up, down, left, and right arrow keys or it can get a little more advance with if/else statements...

For example, the following sets a key to go back on a song if spotify is open, but otherwise it acts as the left arrow key.

My new favorite,  assigns F14 to copy the number in the calculator app and then paste it in your most recent program you had open.

    Hope this helps

I had the same problem. Read a few comments down 'aapffel's' post about replacing the Batteries so I took out my batteries and put them back in (the exact same batteries). The keypad works now. Weird problem but I have had no further issue after replacing the batteries.

Just happened to me, I used your fix of taking out the batteries and then I replaced them with the same batteries. The keypad works now. I have no idea why this worked but it did. Thanks for the comment aapffel.

    Your post was helpful.

    Running Yosemite

Trying to pair was easy after going in Preferences... bluetooth.  It connected right away.  Problem was I could not get numbers to type.  I read your note on changing batteries.  Absolutely crazy but it worked!

My keypad was working perfectly and then just stopped one day.  I followed the directions by aapffel and it worked somehow.  I am now entering numbers to my heart's content.  Thank You!
