You may be having a permissions issue with that folder; check them to make sure you have write privileges for your downloads folder

I'm not sure why this whole "cannot write file" issue comes about, but I know how to get the complete file even when this appears. As for accessing the files, go to your downloads folder and right-click the file that couldn't be written. Select "show package contents" and the fully downloaded file should appear! I was so happy that I didn't have to re-download them!

I already tried to "reset" safari, and repaired permissions. I usually download on the desktop where I have full write permissions. Can't really understand this... with other browsers everything is fine.
