Pro retina battery problem since Maverick upgrade

Hi, i'm having a problem with my macbook pro retina since I upgraded to Mavericks. When the battery goes down to about 12% the screen goes blank, then when I wake it up with the space bar or power button it says theres 0% left. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it? It's weird timing I upgraded the night after the update was released and it was fine before that. Anyway if anyone could help I would appreciate it.
