iPhoto issues after upgrading to OSX Maverick

after upgrading to OSX I had to upgrade my IPhoto to version 9.5. Now a new message is showing when I try to open iPhoto. iPhoto wants to upgrade my library in order to work with new version. Should I do this? any risks? Message tells me that my library won't be readable by previous version of Iphoto after upgrade.
