Apple TV HDMI 1.4 compliance for Ethernet

I have a 3rd Gen Apple TV. I understand it is HDMI 1.4 compliant. I am about to get a new AV Receiver which is 1.4 HDMI compliant and this will be connected to the internet via an ethernet cable. The question I have is, if I connect the Apple TV to the receiver with a 1.4 HDMI cable (which has inbuilt ethernet) will there then be no need to connect another ethernet cable to the Apple TV? i.e. the apple TV will be able to get access to the internet via the AV Receiver?
