Apps download

I am unable to update apps, the apple ID is greyed out with a different ID on it.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

All apps are tied to the account that downloaded them. Do you recognise the id that is showing e.g. is it a previous version of your account (if it is then try logging out and back into your account on your computer's iTunes and/or on your iOS device and then log back in and see if it then shows the current version of your id), or were they downloaded by somebody else ?

All apps and other content from iTunes are tied to the account that originally downloaded them, so only that account will be able to download updates to those apps and/or redownload its content.


If you are referring to Mac apps and not those from iTunes then I'm not sure if the same thing applies or whether they can be transferred - you might be better off asking in the Mac App Store forum.
