Transfer/migrate iWeb directory from MacBook Pro to iMac

I’m a web designer and need to copy/transfer my client’s iWeb directory (86GB) and would like some advice on the best way to do that. Here are the specs:

CLIENT = MacBook Pro, Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard)

ME = iMac, 27”, Mid 2011, OS X 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion)

Should I use Migration Assistant and an Ethernet cable? Or should I transfer to an external hard drive first? Or something else?

Any experienced feedback and specific instructions will be much appreciated!
