Devastation - Installing Mavericks Wiped Out My Computer Settings
I've installed many OS upgrades on my Macs throughout the last few decades but this one was a 'Gotcha
I simply went to the Apple site and chose to install Mavericks. After it installed I noticed that all of the items that were on my desktop were gone, All of the items in my Apps bar were gone, all of my safari bookmarks were gone and all of the settings in Photoshop were gone. All I could see is what you would get if you bought a new computer and brought it home and basically had nothing on it but the OS. It did preserve the Apps and did not erase what was on my hard drive, and that is some consolation. But now, as I begin life with a basically new computer I am working my way through day by day to restore some semblance of what I had constructed over years of use.
Why did this happen? This installl overwrote everything and changed everything.
Shouldn't there be some warning about this as I've never had this problem with any other
MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion, 16G RAM
