Mic next to earpiece covered by screen protectors.

There is a microphone port next to the earpiece (under the front-facing camera). However, commercially available screen protectors will cover that mic. What functioanlity will blocking this mic affect?

Are there any screen protectors available that unblock that port?

Or is that not a microphone port at all?
