Since the last update (the last i-Books update I think), the Finder closes and re-starts almost every one minute...
This wasn't happening at the first 10 days that I had Mavericks installed. I have already ran the "Repair Permissions" from the Disk Utility, but not thourgh the recovery mode though.
It is so annoying.

Experiencing the same thing. It began a half hour ago.
I suspect it has to do with Dropbox, which I recently updated. I quit dropbox and also google docs, and so far no new closes/restarts.
Try removing the /Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist file.
Select Go to Folder from the Finder's or Desktop's Go menu. Paste ~/Library/Preferences/ into the field and press RETURN.
I dont have Dropbox. Only google drive.
I ll quit it to check.
It was Google Drive.
With GD running, finder windows flicker once per minute as they crash and reload. With GD not running, everything's fine. With Dropbox running, everything's fine.
Removing the com.apple.finder.plist file didnt work. Checking the GDrive removal.

I have nothing to do with this product, but came across it and tried it. Called ZipCloud. Like most similar services it is a cloud backup service. But you get unlimited backup space starting at 250 GBs for a personal free account. For some extra money per month you can get faster uploads. I find it is faster than my own FTP server! You can also set up a sync folder that will sync your specified data to your other devices. Frankly, it's a bit of a bargain given the DropBox only provides 2 GBs for free.
Thanks for the alternative suggestion. I 'll look it up, although I 'm using gdrive coz I need the integration with the gmail. I might find a way around it somehow.

i upgraded to maverick over the weekend and the problem showed up here about 30 minutes ago. this fix came just in time.
i'm curious if anyone knows why this is happening and is it going to prevent us from using GD at all?

Apple is aware of the problem, so I would anticipate the will have a fix for the problem.

I just had the same problem as well. Just started this evening. All was fine yesterday. Tried everything! Closing out Google Drive did the trick.
Ditto. Figured it out from a crash report. Absolutely 100% Google Drive.
Quitting Google Drive quitting worked for me. I discovered this during troubleshooting on my own and this discussion validates that this is the fix. Talked to Apple Support about this. I guess it's Google's problem, but no information on their support discussion group yet.
