Mac Basics: QuickTime Player
To stop recording, click the stop button in the menu bar
Best of luck,
I've been experiencing the following (same?) issue:
I want to record some screen recordings. I can start a new recording fine but I cannot figure out how to pause or even stop my recording as the initial control disappears as soon as I start recording.
I've found a 'workaround' for this which involves quititng the QuickTImePlayer which allows me to save my work before it closes. I can then go back and edit my video so that the process of quitting doesn't appear in the final product. Although this method works it is far from ideal...
Surely there must be a simple keyboard shortcut to enable users to pause/stop their recordings??
There is a stop button on the top of the menu bar. The thing is you expect it to be to the right of the help menu when its actually all the way to the right near the clock. It can be next to the clock or any other menu item you have added to the top menu bar. It took me a while to figure this out. I was doing like other people quitting Quick Time and saving the movie.
Hope this helps.
