Mavericks upgrade and loss of drag and drop.

I upgraded to Mavericks last week and in doing so have lost the ability to drag and drop. Can you suggest a way to resolve this?

I thought at first it was VMware Fusion 5 that was causing it as I was able to correct it after stopping my VM and quitting the app, then relaunching the Finder.

Now I am not sure as VMware is currently closed and the Finder relaunched yet the issue persists. You can tell by bringing up a contextual menu, drag 'n dropping a file, or fill in data in an auto-complete field. My computer did come up from sleep though so it may have been from VMware during my prior session.

You can tell specifically in a drag 'n drop that when you let go of the files you want to place where ever, that the files zip back to a location of neither your source file location or where you want the files to go to. In most cases, it's up in the top left section of the screen.

I think it's related to how VMware and/or some of my other apps change the resolution on the fly and then switch back when done.

To reduce the issue, try limiting your apps to use the resolution you have initiated from the beginning. I'm testing as well with my VMware Fusion 6 to only use the current res and nothing else.
