Receiver on a Cinema Display

If I were to purchase an HMDI to Mini DisplayPort adapter to hook an AV receiver (like this one: http://us.marantz.com/us/Products/Pages/ProductDetails.aspx?CatId=AVReceivers) up to a 27" Cinema Display, would everything trasmit and view properly on the screen? I'm hoping to hook up my cable TV, Blu-Ray player, and Wii up to the Cinema Display in addition to my Mac Mini. Are there any issues with the Cinema Display and the HDCP? Any help would be much appreciated!

If the display uses Mini DisplayPortr, not Thunderbolt, you can use a HDMI to Mini DisplayPort converter.

With a 27" display you will only get 720p (1280 x 720).

Hi Malcolm,

Thank you for your reply. I did see on the FAQ of Kanex that the device is not compatible with newer iMacs/Cinema Displays with Thunderbolt. I was looking at this refurb iMac: http://store.apple.com/us_smb_78313/product/G0MS5LL/A/refurbished-imac-34ghz-qua d-core-intel-core-i7

The specs say that it has the Mini DisplayPort, but it also has Thunderbolt - so I'm assuming that it's too new and incompatible with this device. Is that correct? Any other solutions that you know of? Would you recommend the Elgato EyeTV? Do you know whether the EyeTV HD or Hybrid might work better?

Thanks for your help!
