iphone 5 won't connect to wifi

I've just upgraded my internet connection and replaced an external wireless router with an apple timemachine that i was previously using just for backup.

My macbook is connecting perfectly well, but my iphone 5 won't connect. It was working fine before.

I've upgraded to the latest firmware on the router.

Phone is up to date.

I've rebooted the phone, forgotten the network etc. to no avail

I've tested the phone on another wifi network and it connects perfectly well.

I've turned the wifi off and on again.

Any ideas?

Unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network

  1. Verify that you're attempting to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
  2. Make sure you're entering your Wi-Fi password correctly. Passwords may be case sensitive and may contain numbers or special characters.
  3. Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
    • previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
