My iPod touch 4th gen says that it only has 830 mbs. left. When I did the math on my own, I discovered i was only using 1.8 gas. out of my 6.3 available. I am very confused and any amount of clarification would help.

Connect the iPod to your computer and look at the storage used by the various categories as shown in the colored bargarph in iTunes.

This happened to me. Just reboot your iPod (hold down the home and lock buttons at the same time) and it should be fine

An "other" that large usually indicates that the "other" includes corrupted files.
First try:
"First you go settings/general/usage/music/then left swipe over music and press delete and you would think it deletes your music but it doesn't instead it deletes your other but make sure your ipod is connected to a computer while doing this"
