finder window

I recently installed maverick on my macbook pro. I have also installed windows 7. When running my computer in the maverick operating system I am having issues with the finder window. If I have Safari or my e-mail fully expanded, after about 30 seconds or so, the Safari window slides to the side and I can see the finder window. Why are my full screen windows sliding to the side?
